WWW.THE.JOINT.COM: The
joint for new music said a few nice words about glasschild infact
they gave a whopping 9
out of 10 verdict which is excellent.. Here’s
what they said…. Okay
here it is once again “MY OPINION” *ahem* …..I downloaded most of
glasschilds songs I really liked Lover. The music is very Mellow
and is the type of music you want to chill out to..Great lyrics and
I would definitely be up for a gig! I
don’t generally like bands fronted by women(in fact none but Evanescence),
however for some reason I really like Glasschild. Cathy’s voice suits
the songs, there music reminds me of bands like Travis, Weezer and
Nirvana except the whole songs sound different because it’s a girl
singing them….. Anyway
definitely worth checking these guys out……. |

Anonymous reviewer (a very nice
one like)
I
have found, from bands that I go to see, that there are to categories. The first consists of bands who have no feedback energy from the
crowd, and get on stage, do their stuff and jump around a lot, screaming
down the microphone. With not
much melody and people are not understanding
what they are singing, they don’t attract a lot of attention. The
second group are the bands that have obviously well rehearsed, work
on the same level when it comes to music, and all want the same things. They communicate well, and have a certain
energy between themselves, which bounces of the audience……
Glasschild,
in my opinion, certainly falls into the latter group. They have more of a mature feel to them, and
know what they are doing. It
is so refreshing to see a female singer, who can actually sing, with
a band who relate well to her voice.. They’re
not afraid to try things different and see if it works, as they played
a track that they wrote in Spain, and had a bit of a Spanish feel
to it. They also played a song which consisted of
a mix of nursery rhymes, called BaaBaa Black sheep with a twist. It
has become a personal favourite of mine.. A
half hour set which just doesn’t seem long enough, smiling and playing
of each others energy, looking very comfortable onstage. It’s not everyday you get to see a band that
work really well together, and they where such a refreshing and mood
lifting change, The lead singer, was not afraid of her voice, and
used it to her advantage, as she did her thing, and made the crowd
smile. A
more mature band to what I am used to Glasschild have something that
most bands don’t, that something that makes you want to go out and
see them again, buy a copy of the cd so you can play it again and
again when you get home……..
These guys are definitely worth a check out, I can guarantee they Will
make you smile. I hope that they
get where they want to be!!! |
